Chicks Who Love Guns have filled their barrels and are set to inject listeners with a shot that will stimulate convulsions with the release of Shin-Okubo, the first single from their new EP Moon Eater. This is their third EP release in three years and is sure to draw some attention to the punk group.

Their 2011 release, ‘Stutter’ met with rave reviews from press and tastemakers alike. Single ‘Run People’ was added to rotation on Triple J and received plays on Major Independent Radio in Australia. CWLG were also included on the line up for Sydney Big Day Out 2012. Tracks from the EP also received spins on select College stations in New York State, Massachusetts and California and US rock magazine Alternative Press featured Chicks Who Love Guns in their February 2012 issue as a band to watch.

“This EP is dirty, unpolished, probably offensive and very grungy and raw. That’s possibly the reason it’s so good. If you’ve heard Run People on the radio, rest assured the rest of the release is just as good. People who like their indie rock with a little bite will enjoy Chicks Who Love Guns, because the band really is indie rock on crack.” The Dwarf.com.au

“With a band name like Chicks Who Love Guns, you don’t have much choice – you have to be totally badass.” RAVE

‘…they rock the hair off catfish…stupid and genius go hand-in-hand.’ BEAT Single Of The Week (VOTDF)

Chicks Who Love Guns, who have built a reputation for their ferocious live shows, spent the past few years playing with this countries premier acts such as Regular John, Die! Die! Die!, Cairos,The Scare, Hunting Grounds and Grinspoon and recently prompted one reviewer to hail them as the ‘… long awaited shot in the arm indie rock needs!’ The Dwarf.com.au

Headline shows have seen dance floors erupt into mosh pits and band members jump into the crowd to join in on the raucous shenanigans.

‘The opening lyrics of Vomit On The Dance Floor threw the crowd into a head banging hysteria. The last few minutes of the song bore witness to a cavalcade of groovers invading the stage….’ The AU Review, Live Review, Spectrum 19.02.10

‘God, Love & Satan’, a digital only single released in March 2011, was the perfect follow up to their first EP ‘Vomit on the Dancefloor’; loud, brash and irreverent. With 2 accompanying video clips, one featuring the drummer having the song title tattoo’d inside his lip, the band proved to any skeptics that their devil-may-care attitude is in fact, the real thing.

‘…here’s one for throwing chairs out of office windows….a two-and-half minute burst where they manage to worship the Wu Tang Clan and Satan.’ RAVE Single Of The Week (G, L & S)

A viral video of the band performing their cover of ‘Yonkers’ by Tyler, The Creator live has also been winning the praises of fans on line and earning them attention from industry heavyweights.

‘… Their relentless need to make the type of noise I crave has kept me in touch and wanting more. Their songs are great and there is no doubt they mean it! Can’t wait to get back to Australia to see them live. For the moment ill have to make do blasting their CD and annoying the neighbors!’ Nick Launay (Producer Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire)

“Moon Eater” is due for release in August 2012.
